Islamabad: According to various sources, highlighting the transformational importance of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Prime Minister Imran Khan reaffirmed the country’s commitment to completing CPEC projects as soon as possible.
These were the prime minister’s thoughts when speaking with Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong, who had paid him a visit here.

During the conference, participants discussed China’s poverty alleviation experience, the Covid-19 situation, and bilateral ties.
The prime minister congratulated China’s leadership on achieving the historic aim of eradicating extreme poverty in the country, emphasizing that Pakistan was eager to learn from China’s poverty alleviation and growth experience.
He mentioned that Pakistan is currently dealing with the third wave of Covid-19 and that the government is taking the required steps to combat it, including devising a comprehensive vaccination plan for the entire region.
The prime minister went on to say that the people of Pakistan were eager to welcome President Xi Jinping to Pakistan as soon as possible.

Ambassador Nong Rong conveyed President Xi Jinping’s and Premier Li Keqiang’s warm greetings and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening relations with China.
He also said that China would do everything possible to assist Pakistan in dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak, including providing vaccines as soon as possible.
Ambassador Nong Rong also reaffirmed the prime minister’s invitation to visit China.
