Islamabad: According to press reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed Chairman Amer Ahmed Hashmi of the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) to build Special Technology Zones (STZ) in all major cities across the country on Monday (November 8).

According to the facts, the chairman informed the Prime Minister about the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Expo 2020 Dubai, the progress on Special Economic Zones (STZs), and the interest of both international and domestic corporations in investing in Pakistan. PM Khan was also informed about the investment pipeline that has been built as a result of the Pakistan Tech Summit in Istanbul and Expo 2020 Dubai.

Furthermore, Chairman Hashmi added that various SMEs, anchor tenants, venture capital fund managers, startups, and universities have expressed interest in investing in the tech zones as a result of STZA’s initiatives. The parliament has already passed the STZA Act, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has granted land in Islamabad for the development of the first-ever STZ.
