Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the federal and provincial governments to relocate industrial facilities out of cities and promote electric vehicles (EVs)

Premier Imran Khan, who presided over a conference here on Friday to discuss issues connected to pollution in the country, advocated for rewarding the use of quality gasoline and the gradual replacement of automobiles with electric vehicles (EVs).

He spoke about how industrialised countries have adopted new technologies, such as the transfer of public transportation to electric automobiles (EV). The prime minister ordered that all new buses in the country’s metro systems be electric cars.

PM Imran Khan emphasised the need of preventing pollution in our major cities, which has significant social and economic consequences. The prime minister has ordered the Punjab administration to implement a comprehensive smog management policy as soon as possible.

He asked the federal government and the Punjab and KPK provincial administrations to begin work on a short-, medium-, and long-term comprehensive plan for forward-looking policies, including implementation dates.

PM Imran Khan also emphasised the significance of a huge public awareness effort to encourage people to adopt environmentally friendly behaviours.

SAPM on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib, KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, and other top officers were present during the meeting. Sardar Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister of Punjab, joined the meeting through video link.
