Islamabad: According to news reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) apartments in Alipur Farash Town on Thursday.
These Alipur Farash Town apartments are scheduled to be finished in the next two years. The prime minister noted the difficulties that the public has in obtaining loans from commercial banks for building or home purchases when speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony.
People face challenges when approaching banks for small loans, he claims. He said the government is in talks with the banks to make the process easier. The prime minister also stated that he is working on automating construction and layout plan approvals to make it easier for developers and the general public.
Mr. Khan also praised the work of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) on the housing initiative. He expressed the hope that a boost in the housing sector (and related 30 industries) would increase tax collection and wealth development in the country, easing Pakistan’s loan burden.
