Islamabad: According to a news source published on April 7th, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan reaffirmed his commitment to finalize the legal process for the Pakistan Stream North-South Gas Pipeline project so that construction can begin as soon as possible.

These were the premier’s thoughts during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to discuss bilateral ties. Topics of regional and global significance were also addressed during the discussions.

Mr. Imran Khan recalled his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in June 2019 at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Bishkek. He extended to Mr. Putin another invitation to visit Pakistan soon.

He also emphasized the importance of the two countries’ relationship, expressing satisfaction with the strengthening of bilateral ties and increased cooperation in trade, energy, and security. More discussions took place on the topics of electricity, industry, railways, and aviation, with relevant proposals being prepared for the Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) meeting in Moscow later this year.
