ISLAMABAD: Minister Farrukh Habib said that Prime Minister Imran Khan took tangible action to ensure sustained growth in the country, providing each federation unit with the level-playing field.

“Imran Khan wants all-encompassing growth as the country’s prime minister, including Sindh,” Farrukh added while highlighting particular socio-economic provisions for the federal budget for the year 2021 – 2022 of different national units (FY22).

It stated that the federal government had allotted RS98 billion for the Karachi Transmission Plan, Rs40 billion for Gilgit Baltistan Development (GB) and Rs20 billion to South Balochistan and SR19, 5 billion for the regeneration of 14 districts of Sindh.

Farrukh considered a “gift” to the Prime Minister of 14 under-developed districts of Sindh’s Special Rs 446 billion packages for social-economic development. Badin, Hyderabad, Larkana, Tandoyar, Dadu, Mirpur Khas, Tando Muhammad Khan and Ghotki are the districts they operate.

A new era for growth in Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Chikarpur, and Sukkur will be the conclusion of these socio-economic initiatives,’ he says.

The Minister added that the province share in the federal divisible pool would increase by 25 percent in the following fiscal year, to Rs3,41 trillion.

He added that the provincial government did not notice the long-standing problems of the province.
