The construction of the Peshawar ring road and the extended route (linking the ring road to the Khyber district’s Jamrud Road) will divert heavy traffic from the main city to the outskirts, easing traffic congestion on Canal Road, Kohat Road, and all surrounding service roads, as well as traffic bottlenecks within Hayatabad.

This would also make access to government buildings and public and private hospitals in Hayatabad easier for cars coming from the southern areas. The ring road building will begin soon to ensure a stable flow of commodities to Torkham. The authority has purchased the necessary land and paid the landowners; next, structures on the acquired site will be demolished.
