Islamabad: According to news released on Thursday, the Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA) established ‘Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar – Helpline,’ a cooperative call centre of banks to assist borrowers of the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) low-cost home finance programme (October 7).

The inaugural event was held at the Ufone Call Centre in Islamabad, according to the information supplied. Lt. Gen. Anwar Ali Hyder of the Naya Pakistan Housing & Development Authority (NAPHDA), PBA CEO Tawfiq Hussain, SBP Governor Dr. Reza Baqir, Chairman PBA & President HBL Muhammad Aurangzeb, and presidents of the participating commercial banks attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, SBP Governor Baqir said that the bank has relaxed the rules of the Government Markup Subsidy Scheme and boosted loan amounts to support affordable housing across the country.

Furthermore, the hotline is a great initiative that will aid borrowers all around the country by answering their questions and allowing them to get a loan swiftly and easily. This project would not have been possible without the collaboration of Ufone and all members of the banks, including Meezan Bank, HBL, and Faysal Bank, according to PBA Chairman Muhammad Aurangzeb.
