Islamabad: According to a news report, Asad Umar, Minister of Planning, Development, & Special Initiatives, directed the Planning Commission on Tuesday to distribute additional funds from the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2020-21 to respective ministries/departments so that development projects can be completed on time.
While chairing a meeting to review the PSDP 2020-21, Mr. Umar said, ” For this purpose, the Planning Division should encourage and facilitate re-appropriations to and from different projects,”.
The minister was informed about the Planning Commission’s mid-year review of PSDP initiatives.
During the latest review exercise, all ministries/divisions’ PSDP programs, including their development reports and work strategies for the remainder of the financial year, were addressed in-depth, according to the meeting.
Mr. Asad Umar instructed the Planning Commission to collaborate with relevant ministries and divisions to ensure that development funds are used efficiently.
He also instructed provincial governments to complete healthcare programs as soon as possible so that available financial resources from the Covid-19 program could be relocated to them.
