Pakistan is a leading citrus producer in the world. Citrus accounts for roughly 30% of total fruit production in the region. According to the study, the majority of the citrus fruits produced in Pakistan are exported. The most significant of the exported varieties is Kinnow. On the other hand, as older varieties become obsolete, Kinnow quality is declining.

Kinnow varieties haven’t progressed much in years. Due to the preference of buyers in these markets for seedless citrus, just 2.6 percent of the export Kinnow goes to developing countries. This trend is beginning to spread to other parts of the world.
