Islamabad: According to news sources, Shaukat Fayyaz Ahmed Tarin, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, met with World Bank Country Director (WBCD) Najy Benhassine on Wednesday to examine the possibility of additional financing for housing finance in the country.

The World Bank official discussed the international financial institution’s suggested loan facilities for “different interventions in the housing sector totaling USD 290 million” during the stated meeting, which was intended to analyze challenges in the housing industry. He also stated that the World Bank will fully support the government’s efforts to improve the housing sector, particularly low-cost housing schemes.

In addition, the finance minister expressed gratitude for WB’s assistance and underlined the government’s commitment to the housing sector. He emphasized the housing industry’s importance to overall economic prosperity. Mr. Tarin further directed that all details and measures related to the planned WB financing be finalized and completed within a few days.
