Islamabad: According to a news source on August 16, Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T) Aminul Haque stated that significant initiatives are being done to enhance IT-related exports in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.

The minister expressed optimism that, after achieving a new high of USD 2.1 in exports, the USD 5 billion targets will be met as well. To accomplish the USD 5 billion goals, Haque stated, the ministry’s corporation is important for getting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country’s IT industry.

‘To achieve this goal, the government launched 25 IT-related initiatives worth PKR 31 billion in various distant locations of the country in the previous fiscal year, with the total number of projects reaching 30 in the current fiscal year,’ Haque added.

The Ministry of Finance recently announced a PKR 10 billion package aimed at improving Pakistan’s IT and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS).
