Gwadar: On Friday, the Pak-China Institute in Gwadar was officially opened, with Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong addressing the occasion via video link. On this occasion, the Chinese envoy stated that the institute represented 70 years of friendship between Pakistan and China.

He said that the project was completed in just 20 months for a cost of Rs10 million. He said that the Pak-China Institute and vocational institutes were equipped with cutting-edge machinery and equipment to provide the best technical education and skills to Balochistan’s young, especially those in Gwadar.
He stated that Pak-China Institute students would receive not just free housing but also scholarships. Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company Zhang Baozhong said the institution was wonderful not only for Gwadar but for the entire area, and that it will play a vital role in the region’s technical growth.

He explained that the institute’s goal was to help the region’s talented kids find good work by providing vocational training. Technical institutes, he added, played a significant part in industrial development, and trained youngsters had excellent prospects to work at Gwadar Port and other CPEC projects.
