Lahore: According to news reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) opened the ‘Overseas Pakistani Desk’ at the LDA office on Friday (November 12) to protect the properties of Pakistanis living overseas.

The ceremony was attended by LDA Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar and Overseas Pakistanis Commission Vice-Chairman Syed Tariq Mehmoodul Hassan, and was organised by the LDA’s ‘One Window Cell.’

The Overseas Pakistani Desk was established on the orders of Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar, according to the facts. The CM ordered LDA to run the desk on a novel, fast-track manner that would answer any non-resident Pakistani concerns within 15 days.

The LDA Town Planning Wing also carried out an anti-encroachment operation in Allama Iqbal Town, Sabzazar, and Multan Road. An illegal sports club in Sabzazar, many stores in Allama Iqbal Town, and a commercial structure on Multan Road were razed, according to reports.

According to reports, LDA DG Tarar paid a visit to the Shahkam Flyover to assess the progress of the project. He requested that the work be expedited and that the flyover be completed within a certain time frame. Defence Road will be enlarged as part of this project, according to reports.
