Tabeer Energy and Energas have been issued construction licences by the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), according to Dawn News.
These licences are for the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminals at Port Qasim and will be valid for 15 years. The terminals will be used to import, degasify, store, and deliver LNG to both companies’ private customers.

LNG reports are likely to be arranged by the companies without any risk to the government. They would now be able to use the gas utility pipeline network, which they had previously been unable to use.
Two provisions apply to the licences:
Both companies should have an implementation agreement with the PQA to construct Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRU) before starting construction.
They must sign gas transportation agreements (GTAs) with Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) so that LNG can be delivered to customers through the national gas pipeline network.
