Islamabad: According to press reports, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reaffirmed on Tuesday (September 21) that the board is not considering extending the deadline for filing tax returns.

As previously proposed, the deadline for filing tax returns will be September 30. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has disputed rumours in numerous newspapers that the deadline for filing income tax returns has been extended, according to the information.

According to a spokeswoman for the federal tax authority, the FBR headquarters is not considering any suggestions in this regard.

The authority announced that a nationwide integrated advertising campaign for return submissions had commenced and would continue through September 30. A comprehensive awareness campaign including electronic, print, and social media is currently in progress, and it is proving to be effective and encouraging.

People are submitting their annual income tax returns in big numbers as the results become available. They have urged taxpayers to file the annual income tax forms by September 30, 2021, to avoid penalties.
