Islamabad: According to news reports, National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Captain Muhammad Khurram Agha declared on Saturday (August 14) that the NHA has a thorough plan in place to plant saplings along the country’s motorway and highway network.

In a press conference, the NHA chairman stated that the organization is working hard to build environmentally-friendly roads across the country to make them more aesthetically pleasing for travelers and to reverse the negative effects of global warming, as per Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s vision. Murad Saeed, the Federal Minister of Communications and Postal Services, is said to have given the authorities the same instructions.
At the invitation of the NHA Rawalpindi Maintenance Unit, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar, planted a tree in the Punjab North Region. Similarly, Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar, Minister, and Adviser to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs began a plantation effort on the N-5 near Motorway Chowk. Gulzar Hussain Shah, Rawalpindi Commissioner, and Brig Ijaz Qamar, Rawalpindi Station Commander, also planted seedlings at N-5.

The chairman invited everyone to engage in the advanced afforestation push to make Pakistan cleaner and greener at a tree-planting drive along N-5.
