Islamabad: According to press reports, the National Highways Authority (NHA) Executive Board sent the Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the 163-kilometer Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road (N-15) to authorities for final approval on Saturday (December 04).

The PKR 5.57 billion project was sent to the Central Development Working Party (CDWP)/Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec). According to the report, the project cost under the modified PC-1 has increased by 45.8% to PKR 5.57 billion from the originally planned value of PKR 3.820 billion.
In addition, the board approved a revised PC-1 for PKR 21.52 billion to dualize and enhance the 80-kilometer-long Pindigheb-Kohat Road (N-80). With a budget of PKR 33.774 billion, the board also approved the amended PC-1 for the 128-kilometer dualisation and upgradation of the Indus Highway (N-55) from Sarai Gambila to Kohat.

In another development, the NHA has chosen to construct an underpass near Golra Mor on Grand Trunk (GT) Road to let vehicles arriving from sectors I-14, I-15, and I-16 gain access. The authority plans to spend PKR 717 million on the project, which has already been allocated to a private company. The projected project will take 12 months to complete and will be able to accommodate 125,000 vehicles per day.
