Lahore: According to a recent news report, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has started to issue mutation and inheritance certificates to the deceased’s kin. The certificate issuance system charges Rs. 10,000 for inheritances worth less than Rs. 100,000, and Rs. 20,000 for claims worth more than Rs. 100,000.

The legal kin applicants would be needed to attend a NADRA registration centre for biometric verification, according to the information given by the authorities; however, the verification procedure will also be available online. The certificate of mutation and inheritance will be provided within 15 days only once the applicant’s details have been confirmed. Legal challenges to the certificate will be considered within 14 days. Applicants will also be issued a tracking number that they may use to track the progress of their application.

Following the filing of the application, NADRA will evaluate the applicant’s family tree and issue a deceleration form, an example of which may be found on the NADRA website. The legal heirs’ information will be included in the document, and each heir will be asked to submit a copy of their CNIC for this reason.
