Lahore: According to a news source story on March 31, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has given his approval for the construction of 800 apartments in Multan, stating that the units would be modeled per the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments projects.

Minister Rasheed made the announcement while presiding over a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA). These NPHP apartments in Multan will be spread across three marlas and will be built on two acres of PHATA-owned land at Madni Chowk.

The meeting also approved the establishment of two new low-cost housing schemes in Multan and Rawalpindi, each with 20% of plots set aside for NPHP developments. PHATA’s current construction initiatives were also addressed at the meeting.

Regarding the low-cost housing projects, Rasheed said that approval is given on a first-come, first-served basis. He also said that the NPHP is making good progress with the help of private builders and developers.
