Islamabad: On Friday, the National Assembly was informed that the Metro Bus Project from Peshawar Morr (Kashmir Highway) to the New International Islamabad Airport would be operational by March 23 of the next year. During question hour, Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Shaukat Ali stated that bus tenders had been awarded and that the buses will arrive in Islamabad within a month.

He went on to say that the government had set aside Rs1,000 million in the current fiscal year to fund the project. The National Highway Authority (NHA) had completed the infrastructure, according to Shaukat Ali, and directives had been given to finalise the ticketing system and security procedures. Last year, the Prime Minister authorised the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to take over the project, according to the Parliamentary Secretary.
