Both initiatives will be environmentally sustainable and signal-free, according to the authority’s details. According to reports, this infrastructure project will be the city’s only twin underpass. Officials said the two projects will help with traffic flow because the corridor is still congested owing to VVIP traffic. On a daily basis, more than 0.1 million vehicles travel through the chowk, according to reports.

The RDA said that the proposed renovations will include computerized LED lights and green areas on both sides of the underpass. The authority intends to plant 25,000 trees around these underpasses, according to the information. Funds for the projects have also been allocated in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2021-2022, according to the report.
