Karachi: According to news reports, Mastercard and One Network formally entered into a strategic alliance on Monday (November 8) to digitise the M-tag payment system on the Motorway.

Mastercard will supply integrated digital payment gateway infrastructure for One Network’s freshly released Apple and Android smartphone apps under the terms of the deal. Motorway travellers will be able to pay, recharge, and track their M-Tag accounts while travelling on the highway, according to an agreement inked at the Pakistan Pavillion at the Dubai Expo 2020.
Representatives from the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), Pakistan’s largest toll collector, and One Network were present at the signing event.

One Network is a local supply chain and intelligent transportation systems company that provides Electronic Toll Collection (ETC), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Telecommunication Infrastructure Services. It has worked with the FWO to develop digital payment systems for toll tax collection on major highways and roads.
