Lahore: According to news reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) made a proposal to the provincial government on Monday (November 29) for the construction of an underpass at Mor Samanabad. The LDA Engineering Wing has submitted Project Concept-1 (PC-1) worth PKR 1.39 billion to the Punjab government for final approval.

The 500-meter-long full-height underpass would be created to reduce traffic congestion at Samanabad Mor on the road to Gulshan-e-Ravi, according to the project. The LDA will publish a tender for the project after receiving approval from Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
In other news, Hasaan Khawar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM), announced that the PKR 1.75 billion Gulab Devi Underpass project will be finished two months ahead of schedule, saving the provincial government PKR 12 million.

SAPM Khawar told the reporters that the project is part of the Chief Minister’s ‘Lahore Package,’ which also includes the construction of four flyovers and three underpasses. Gulab Devi Underpass development began in July, and the LDA said in November that the underpass would be available to traffic by December 20.
