Lahore: According to press reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) submitted three megaprojects for approval to the Planning and Development (P&D) Department on Monday (October 11).

Repair and rehabilitation of Sagian Road, restoration of the Babu Sabu Interchange dual highways, and building of the Shahdara Turbo Roundabout are among the new projects suggested. Following approval from the P&D department, the LDA would submit the megaprojects to the LDA Governing Body, which is chaired by Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar, for final approval.

According to reports, the LDA has requested PKR 247.3 million for the building of roadways near the Babu Sabu Interchange, PKR 753.3 million for the repair and rehabilitation of Sagian Road, and PKR 5.5 billion for the construction and redesign of the Shahdara Turbo Roundabout.

In addition, LDA is now working on three other megaprojects to address the city’s traffic problems: the Shahkam Chowk flyover, the Gulab Devi Underpass, and the Sheranwala Flyover.
