Lahore: According to news reports, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar remarked on Monday that rules have been drafted and executed to prevent agricultural land from being turned into unlawful housing societies. He also stated that policies have been passed to stimulate the development of the construction sector in the city.

The LDA DG made these remarks during a meeting with a private housing delegation led by Sh Amjad Manzoor. The team informed DG Tarar of the difficulties faced by private housing associations. Furthermore, the members expressed their concerns and opinions about the city’s new master plan.
DG LDA Tarar responded by telling the delegation that their worries and challenges will be handled as soon as possible, and that their proposals would be put into the master plan to make it more accessible to citizens.

He also added that LDA will establish a specialised one-window cell to address the challenges and concerns of housing organisations. He claimed that the LDA website has a list of illegal housing projects for better guidance and to protect residents from unethical private housing plans.
