Lahore: According to press reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) completed the prequalification of contractors for two major road development projects in the city on Wednesday (November 03). In the coming months, the administration has decided to begin work on the construction of roadways next to the Babu Sabu interchange, as well as the dualisation of the Burki Road-BRB canal road.

In addition, the authorities stated that seven enterprises qualified for the PKR 400 million Burki Road infrastructure project, while four firms qualified for the PKR 242.7 million Babu Sabu Road development project. During the current fiscal year, the LDA will commence building on the project (FY 2021-22).
In other infrastructure news, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the building site of the Gulab Devi Underpass on Wednesday (November 03). He was briefed on the construction work by LDA Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar, who claimed that the underpass will be completed by December.

He indicated that the contractor had finished the underpass excavation work and that rehabilitation and road carpeting work will commence soon. The project is crucial in easing the city’s traffic difficulties, according to the chief minister, and so rapid construction is required to complete the project on time.
