Lahore: According to a news source, Chief Traffic Officer Montazer Mehdi indicated that the City Traffic Police’s feasibility study has been completed and given to the district government for approval on turning the historic Mall Road signal free.

The Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) and the city district authority have started working on the plan. Once the authorities have given their approval, work on the project will commence. The proposed plan’s implementation will resolve traffic-related concerns on the road.

Four U-turns will be built on the Mall Road for the signal-free project, according to CTO Montazer Mehdi, and all intersections crossing the Mall Road will be sealed. By making a U-turn, citizens will be able to cross Mall Road. The service road that goes from High Court Chowk to the Governor’s House will also be closed.

Mall Road in Lahore is historically significant and culturally significant. The Mughal and British periods are represented by several of the structures in this neighborhood. This route is undeniably a testament to the passage of time. The Museum, Lahore Zoo, Punjab Provincial Assembly, Qurban Lines (Police), and Aitchison College are all located on Mall Road.
