Nowshera Economic Zone (Extension), Rashakai SEZ, Dera Ismail (DI) Khan Economic Zone, and Jalozai Economic Zone were the first four Special Economic Zones (SEZ) to be established. The construction of the economic zone is anticipated to create over 300,000 employment possibilities, according to reports.

Additionally, the meeting was also briefed on the industrial units currently being established, the newly launched economic zones, and the planned ones. It was also mentioned that the economic zones have brought more than PKR 31 billion investment in the province and have led to the establishment of 1,290 industrial units.
