Peshawar: In a piece of recent news, in the current financial year (FY22), the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to construct eight new economic zones to boost industries and ease investors in the province.

Following a meeting of the KP Economic Zones Development and Management Company officials with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, the press was informed that new economic zones will be developed in Bannu, Mohmand, Palai, Chitral, Ghazi, Buner Marble City, Draban Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and Karak. The CM was informed about the province’s existing economic zones, as well as newly developed and upcoming economic zones.
Earlier this year, the KP government inaugurated four new economic zones, namely Rashkai SEZ, Jalozai Economic Zone, Nowshera Economic Zone (extension), and DI Khan Economic Zones, which are expected to produce 300,000 new employment.

During the conference, it was also resolved to establish a Women’s Business Park to encourage women to start businesses and give them with a supportive environment. According to Mahmood Khan, the present administration is taking significant steps to boost the industrial sector. He stated that the growth of the industrial sector is critical in providing people with job possibilities
