Swat: According to news reports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan announced PKR 2.39 billion in uplift projects for Swat district on Friday (November 19).

According to reports, road and infrastructure improvements, educational institutions, and the building of a rehabilitation and rescue centre are among the newly approved uplift projects for Swat.

The chief minister paid a visit to PK-4 District Swat and announced funds for the blacktopping of the Manglawar-Malamjabba Road, the establishment of a Service Delivery Centre at Charbagh, the standardisation of the Government Girls High Secondary School Manglawar, and the establishment of the Charbagh Rescue Station, according to the details.

Similar programmes would be announced for the newly amalgamated districts of former FATA to bring more people into the folds of development and achieve sustainable and inclusive growth, he stated at the time.

In a similar development, the province government of KPK has requested the local government and the health department to identify areas where sanitation, drinkable water, and drainage infrastructure are needed.

The provincial government has directed that Project Concept-1 (PC-1) for the projects be created and authorised as soon as feasible. The measures aim to strengthen the civic framework of the province capital and prevent water-borne infections, according to a government spokesman.
