Karachi: According to press reports, Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) Director Kamran Alvi claimed that the department aims to initiate an anti-encroachment operation in the districts of Korangi, West, and Malir.

The first phase of the drive will start in the last week of September 2021. At a related incident, as part of its continuing anti-encroachment operation, the KMC anti-encroachment department demolished encroachments in Gulbahar and Peetal Gali in the Central District. KMC Director Kamran Alvi and Deputy Director Masroor Iqbal were in charge of the operation. Police were also present to ensure that there was no pushback.

In another anti-encroachment development, the Supreme Court was informed of an anti-encroachment operation carried out in a small amusement park in the Gulshan Iqbal region on Thursday (September 23). The encroachments had been completely removed, according to the commissioner, and the amusement park will be restored to its previous state. The commissioner was also ordered by the Supreme Court to hasten the debris clearance process.
