Karachi: According to media reports, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) held a meeting on Saturday to discuss the beauty and rehabilitation of 106 roads and invited agencies to help beautify Karachi roadways.
KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed presided over the meeting, which was also attended by KMC Senior Director Coordination Khalid Khan, Parks Director General Taha Saleem, General Works Director Shabiul Hasnain Zaidi, and other officers.
An advisory panel will be formed to oversee road rehabilitation, according to the KMC Administrator. Well-known figures, important persons with new ideas, and KMC officials will make up the committee.
He also stated that to beautify the roads, memorials would be built. Many large firms and organizations have already submitted some remodeling ideas to the roads designated for reconstruction, including Shahrah-e-Faisal, Rashid Minhas Road, Shahrah-e-Pakistan, and other key roadways, to beautify Karachi. Shahrah-e-Faisal, he added, is a vital route because it leads to the airport.
Mr. Laeeq Ahmad has also urged the inhabitants of Karachi to help improve the city’s image by planting trees and making it greener and cleaner.
