Karachi: According to media sources, Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon said on Thursday (October 7) that the South District will be transformed into a model district by upgrading parks and removing encroachments.

The commissioner visited the Muslim Gymkhana, the park adjacent to the Federation House, Bagh Ibn e Qasim, YMCA Ground, Shaheen Complex, Village Garden Restaurant, Baradari Parking, YMCA Ground, and Jahangir Feroz Shah Culture Institute on the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) in the South District.

During his visit, he was informed on the Supreme Court-ordered anti-encroachment operation. The anti-encroachment drive near the KCR route was reported to Commissioner Memon. Furthermore, the commissioner directed the appropriate authorities to resurrect sporting activities at the YMCA Ground and was informed of anti-encroachment operations at the site.
Lights and grills have been put around it, and work on the green belt, jogging track, and restorations to the historic structure has been completed, according to reports.
