Karachi: According to news published on August 17, Engro, one of the country’s largest companies, has restored the landmark PIDC Bridge in Karachi, which serves as a crucial link to M.T. Khan Road.

On the eve of Independence Day, Murtaza Wahab Siddiuq, Advisor to the Chief Minister and recently appointed Administrator for Karachi, officially opened the bridge. On the occasion, Engro Energy Limited CEO Ahsan Zafar Syed, Engro Corporation President Ghias Khan, and other Engro team members were present.

The bridge, also known as “Chand Mari” or “Lovers Bridge,” has a long history stretching back to before division. The PIDC Bridge plays a critical role in Karachi’s development. When railway services were initially established in the city, the Bridge was built. It served as a link between the warehouses and the commercial center of the time. The PIDC Bridge is currently one of the city’s primary traffic routes.
