Karachi: According to media sources, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail declared on Tuesday that the 24-kilometer Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will be operational by the end of August or the beginning of September.

The Sindh governor said that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will inaugurate the Green Line BRT project in August following a meeting with GDA head Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza. Imran Ismail told the media that new development initiatives will be launched to help people in Badin and the adjacent areas better their living standards.

In addition, construction on Phase-I of the Green Line BRT project began in 2016. The proposed path is 24 kilometers long, with 12.7 kilometers raised and 10.9 kilometers at grade. The Green Line BRT will have 25 stations and will be 422 meters below.
At M.A Jinnah Road, the 2.5-kilometer common corridor from Gurumandir to Municipal Park will include two underpasses.
