Karachi: According to a recent news report, the Federal minister for Information Technology and Telecom, Mr. Syed Aminul Haque has requested to allot alternate residents before the next rain spell to the owners whose houses were razed during an anti-encroachment drive.

The minister visited the Orangi and Gujjar nullahs to inspect the cleanup efforts of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Officials from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and the Katchi Abadi department informed the federal minister during his visit.

According to Syed Aminul Haque, the federal government is working with the provincial administration to address the difficulties that citizens are facing. To minimise any difficulties, the minister also instructed the appropriate agencies to complete the storm drain cleaning operation before the next downpour. The Minister has also commended the efforts of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and the NDMA in the Orangi and Gujjar nullahs.
