Karachi: According to reports, Karachi has been ranked 115 in the new global crime index, up 12 points from the previous year due to improved law and order in the metropolis.
Caracas (Venezuela) topped the list, with Kabul (Afghanistan) in 14th place, Dhaka (Bangladesh) in 43rd place, Houston (United States) in 52nd place, Delhi (India) in 82nd place, Washington DC (US) in 88th place, and Bangalore (India) in 108th place.

The ‘Crime Index,’ according to the website, is “an estimation of aggregate level of crime in a given city or country.”
“We consider crime levels below 20 to be very low, crime levels between 20 and 40 to be low, crime levels between 40 and 60 to be moderate, crime levels between 60 and 80 to be normal, and crime levels above 80 to be very high,” it says.
