Islamabad: According to media reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has disclosed that development on I.J. Principal Road is moving at a rapid rate. After the soil tests at all four locations were completed, the National Logistics Cell (NLC) began piling operations to restore I.J. Principal Road. Within a month, full-fledged construction activity on the project locations is expected to begin.
Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone for the rehabilitation of I.J. Principal Road, as well as two other projects, earlier this month. The Rs. 4.9 billion project includes a road renovation and the installation of two lanes on each side for heavy traffic, according to the specifications. In addition, an interchange will be built at 9th Avenue and Stadium Road, one of I.J Principal Road’s busiest crossings.
In addition, near the intersection of Faqir Aipee Road and I.J. Principal Road, a flyover will be built. A bridge will be erected at Sabzi Mandi, Pirwadhai, and another near Katarian halt. The project is estimated to take 18 months to complete.
According to a CDA official, for high traffic, two rigid lanes will be built on each sides of the road. According to the official, the whole route from Faizabad to Peshawar would be repaired. The I.J. Principal Road will also be upgraded to an eight-lane highway, according to reports.
