Islamabad: According to a recent news report published on March 23, the Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Amir Ali Ahmed, stated that the construction work on the Islamabad Expressway and PWD Underpass is taking place smoothly and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2021.
He also said that the authority is working to complete and expand the Islamabad Expressway from the Korang Nullah Bridge to T-chowk on GT Road. The authority also intends to convert the two-lane section between Korang Nullah and GT Road into a five-lane expressway, he added.
Mr. Ahmed stated that tenders for this extension project would be issued before June when the PWD Underpass was expected to be completed and the Korang Nullah Bridge would be halfway completed. Meanwhile, he mentioned that the CDA intended to improve the IJP (Inter Junction Provincial) Road in order to resolve the city’s commute concerns.
