Skardu: According to news reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the refurbished Skardu International Airport and the Jaglot-Skardu road today (December 16) to increase tourism in the region.
According to the data, the Skardu International Airport, which is located at 7,000 feet above sea level, is one of the world’s highest altitude airports and has been upgraded to an international level. The airport’s main runway is 12,000 feet long, while the auxiliary runway is 8,500 feet. PM Khan noted at the event that improved connectivity will attract both international and domestic tourism to the region. Direct flights, he continued, help enhance tourism.
Furthermore, the construction of the road and airport will provide residents with job possibilities. Gilgit-Baltistan, according to the minister, has the most beautiful mountains in the world. People were unaware of the region’s beauty since it was tough to reach, he noted.
