Islamabad: According to several sources, in March 2021, industrial power usage increased by 15% year on year compared to March 2019.
Hammad Azhar, the Minister of Energy, declared the news on Twitter on Wednesday.
This also demonstrates that the government’s energy relief package has boosted industrial power demand.

Hammad Azhar said that “Success of the Industrial Energy Package can be gauged by the fact that there is a 15 percent increase in industrial power consumption in March this year compared to March 2019 (not just 2020 as the COVID-19 lockdown low base effect)”.
“During peak hours the increase is 38 %.” He added.
