Lakki Marwat: According to several sources, several permanent structures were demolished in the remote Dharaka Aziz Khan Sulemankhel locality here on Thursday during an anti-encroachment operation.
According to a local administration official, the communication and works department has begun work on a road project that the provincial government has approved for the rural region.

“The road will link the rural localities with the rest of the district,” the official said, adding that many land grabbers had taken over state land and constructed permanent structures on both sides of the road.
He stated that the C&W department had alerted the district administration to the encroachments, claiming that the illegal structures could stymie and stall the road project.
The action against land grabbers was supervised by additional deputy commissioner Mohammad Anwar Khan Sherani and additional AC Ishaq Ali Khan, according to the official.
The unauthorized structures were razed with the aid of equipment by the municipal administration’s anti-encroachment unit, which was followed by workers from the revenue and C&W departments.
The roadsides had been cleared of all encroachments, according to Mr. Sherani. He said that land grabbers had been forced to relinquish over five Kanals.
