Peshawar: According to media sources, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Housing Department declared on Tuesday that the quota for widows and minorities in all future residential housing developments will be increased from 0.5 percent to 1 percent.

The 26th meeting of the Housing Department was headed by Housing Minister Dr. Amjad Ali, who discussed the 13 issues on the agenda. The minister also went through the status of the previous meeting’s decisions. During the most recent meeting, it was resolved to set aside land in Jalozai Housing Scheme to build a paraplegic centre with all the necessary amenities for physically handicapped people.
In addition, the delegates resolved to hold the Pakistan Housing Authority’s next draw through the Punjab Information Technology Board. The meeting approved the issuance of Jalozai Housing Scheme allotment letters as well as the development of a regional facilities centre.

In other news, CM Mahmood Khan has announced that two new low-cost housing projects will be launched in the Mardan and Peshawar districts in the next two months. The CM directed the necessary agencies to complete all pre-requisites in order to launch the initiatives on time.
