Lahore: According to news reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) declared on Tuesday (November 16) that the Gulab Devi Underpass will be open for traffic by December 20. The authorities has revealed the project’s construction timeline in this regard. The LDA will commence barrel road carpeting, retaining walls, and the water boundaries of the underpass, according to the information.

The project’s last phase will begin on November 20 (tomorrow) and run until December 20. The LDA also offered Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar with three options for the final finish and beautifying, with the CM opting for the design featuring aluminium work.
Similarly, the LDA has started work on developing side roads, starting with Burj Lahore. It’s worth noting that the LDA started work on the Gulab Devi Underpass in June, and CM Buzdar laid the foundation stone on July 19.

The project lies on Ferozpur Road, one of the city’s main thoroughfares with significant traffic. Massive traffic jams developed from the regular congestion of roadways during peak hours. Once the underpass is finished, the problem should be solved.
