Karachi: Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed stated in a meeting on Monday that a master plan for the city’s beautification has been devised. The meeting was attended by Senior Director Coordination Khalid Khan, Director General Parks and Horticulture Taha Saleem, Faiz Qadwai, Sohail Ahmed, Director General Technical Services Shabihul Hasnain Zaidi, and representatives from other organizations.
According to the plan, underpasses, pedestrian bridges, and flyovers will be remodeled with the help of the business sector. The administrator went on to say that the most up-to-date ideas and procedures would be used to improve the city’s appearance.
Mr Laiq also emphasized the importance of improving the sewage and rainwater drainage systems in the underpasses, without which the beautifying project would be a waste of money.
He also added that work on the beautification of Shahra-e-Faisal would begin soon. The status of infrastructure repair in various places was also discussed at the meeting.
Infrastructure development, in addition to aesthetic projects, is said to be part of the plan. Roads, bridges, and underpasses must enhance the city’s attractiveness while also providing convenience to its citizens.
According to the administrator, the city’s beautification can only be realized when the infrastructure is in good functioning order.
