Rawalpindi: According to news reports, the Punjab government organised a pricing evaluation committee on Saturday (November 06) to begin work on the land acquisition process for the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project’s revised route. After visiting the listed places, the committee, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi division Muhammad Ali, would assess the market value of the land.

According to reports, a team made up of members from various departments would visit the planned project site to obtain market price information. Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act of 1894 will also be used to prevent land sales.
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has also agreed to videotape the committee’s hearings in order to make the process more transparent. It’s worth noting that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has already included the 38.3-kilometer ring road project in his Annual Development Programme (ADP), with PKR 6.7 billion set aside for it.

In a related development, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has begun work on the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) Project Concept-1 (PC-1) that will be presented to the province government for final clearance.
