Lahore: According to press reports, the Punjab government resolved to withdraw the proposed hike in property tax in the upcoming cabinet meeting on Thursday (September 23).

Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal met with President Mian Tariq Misbah of the Lahore Chamber & Commerce Industry (LCCI) and resolved to stop the rising property tax ratio. During the discussion, the provincial minister informed the LCCI president about the government’s business-friendly initiatives that will be implemented in the coming months.

Furthermore, the administration may present a bill to amend the Finance Bill 2021 in the Punjab Assembly session, which begins today (Friday). Three further amendment legislation relating to Evacuee Property and Displaced Persons Laws, Punjab Wildlife Protection, and Punjab Board of Revenue are expected to be introduced, according to reports. The Punjab Commission for Regularization of Irregular Housing Schemes Ordinance 2021 (amendment) will also be discussed in the parliament.
