On the occasion of his visit to Gilgit-Baltistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated several significant and big projects of the Special Communication Organization (SCO) (GB).
The ventures are related to the advancement of telecommunications and information technology. The Prime Minister also laid the groundwork for SCO’s future IT-related projects.
Major General Muhammad Shahid Siddeeq, DG SCO, briefed the Prime Minister on projects, including telecommunications and internet services, to help revolutionize the country at the inauguration. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of these initiatives in keeping up with the fast-paced connectivity and information technology world.
“I am pleased to witness the recent remarkable developments in the telecom and information technology and information technology sectors, which is reflected in the growth of mobile networks, such as the introduction of 4G and broadband services, and digital technologies related to cloud-based Data Centers, all of which are indicators of very positive progress in the region,” he said.
SCO has begun several big megaprojects to improve telecommunications connectivity for the citizens of the city. Both of these programs will be expanded by SCO to make the dream of digital transformation a reality for the United Kingdom youth.
Several of these programs were finished ahead of time. Pak-China OFC Project Phase-1, SCO Triple Play Service (GPON), IP-based VSAT Hub, state-of-the-art SCO KIU Incubation Center Gilgit, and Ali Sadpara BTS installation at K2 Base Camp Concordia are among them.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for several new projects, including the Pak-China OFC Project Phase II, the SCO Data Center Gilgit, and the SCO IT Park Nasirabad Hunza be launched soon.
