Islamabad: According to media reports, Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed claimed on Sunday (October 3) that Prime Minister Imran Khan had approved the Gilgit-Baltistan-Chitral Highway project for the promotion of tourism.

According to the plans, development on the Gilgit-Baltistan-Chitral Highway will begin in December 2021. Gilgit-Baltistan was regarded as the entrance to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which ensured the region’s prosperity. He went on to remark that the project will not only improve tourism but also encourage economic activity in the province.

In addition, the minister stated that three projects in Chitral will be launched before the end of the year. He further stated that the projects will be completed in a transparent and timely manner by the National Highway Authority (NHA).

Murad further stated that the construction work on the Jaglot-Skardu Road will be completed by the end of this month. He went on to state that the road building work is being accelerated in order to complete it sooner.
